Wow, has it really been 3 months since our last post?

Time flies...and progress continues at a steady rate. And we've only had one major setback. Our beautiful new Volvo engines have been in the building while we've been waiting for the transmissions to arrive. When that day finally came, the crew eagerly attached them then lifted an engine into the boat....

and....

it didn't fit!

After some modification to the stringers in the engine room and ordering different transmissions, we wait....again.

Fortunately, the engine delay isn't affecting other installations and work:

We had the floors sanded by Andy Shoop of Northwest Hardwood Flooring and they look great. Bob had to build some additional flooring along the sides of the salon, which matches the original teak & holly perfectly.

The house and flybridge have been primed and Aaron is working on the bow. What a difference! We are using AkzoNobel's Awlgrip paint on the exterior and Interlux for the interior, engine room and cockpit compartments, and it's going on beautifully. The painstaking process of getting the surface absolutely smooth by sanding, filling, faring...repeat (and repeat, and repeat) is imperative to achieve this flawless finish. Aaron's patience is remarkable!

Carpentry continues on the flybridge and the refurbished helm station has been installed. Bob has also installed the lifting strake/hard chine and rub rails to the hull.

Plumbing and systems installation continues--in every available hatch! Matt shows his aptitude for working in small spaces (either that or he found a cozy spot for a nap)!

Pat swears he's obliterated the last of the dry rot!

Upcoming projects:

• Installing the bowsprit and anchor system

• Reinforcing the interior ceiling beams and preparing for headliner

• Installing counters in the heads then finishing plumbing

• Rebuilding the cockpit helm station

• Continuing with electrical and installing lights

• Continuing cockpit rebuilding

• Toe rail installation

• Exterior painting
