FRONT OFFICE COORDINATOR

SEA Marine is seeking a personable, organized employee with a can-do attitude to be the forward face of our active, growing marine service business. Employee must have positive attitude, professional appearance, and ability to multi-task efficiently.  Flexibility is important, as daily responsibilities may vary depending on customers’ needs.  Position is full time, a minimum of 32 hours per week.  Work week is Monday through Friday, and steady hours are required but flexible between the 8:30am – 3:30pm timeframe each day.  Hours could extend as needed, based upon demand and availability.  Position reports to Operations Manager, with support to Finance and Service Managers.

 

Full time position, responsibilities include:

  • Manage opening & closing of store

  • Greet customers, answer phones and transfer calls

  • Process customer payments for service, store items and yard services

  • Communicate with employees via radio to expedite customer service

  • Maintain store front’s organization, display, and cleanliness

  • Manage inventory of store and office supplies

  • Receive and route deliveries, process returns

  • Ensure that all administrative tasks for the shift have been completed and that the store is stocked, tidy & clean for each day

  • Support the team for smooth daily operations.  Tasks include but not limited to mail/bank runs, invoice entry, organization of spaces or other tasks in support of our growing business.

 

With time and experience, increased responsibility to include:

  • Support Service Department with internal & customer communications

  • Maintain shop parts inventory

 

Experienced required: 

  • Office setting & customer interaction

  • Microsoft Office:  Outlook, Word, Excel

  • QuickBooks: Basic level understanding

 

Traits required:

LEAD CANVAS & UPHOLSTERY ESTIMATOR

Candidate will be the primary customer contact for the fabrication team, assemble customer estimates, work with current team to schedule, fabricate and install bimini tops, boat covers, dodgers, full enclosures and do upholstery work for vessel and vehicle seating. Candidate must have knowledge of design, fabrication, patterning and installation of canvas products related to the marine industry. This position requires an eye for detail, shaping, symmetry and design. It also requires speed, accuracy and the ability to work well with others.

This position requires a high level of craftsmanship in:

  • Patterning a project in the shop or at the source

  • Cutting of materials

  • Sewing

Qualifications

  • Must be able to work independently and with team

  • Must have commercial marine or automotive experience

  • Must be able to make precise measurements

  • Must have experience in creating custom patterns

  • Must know how to piece together full canvas enclosures, including rigid windows

  • Must be able to organize workflow, meet customer needs and production deadlines

  • Must exhibit flexibility as shop schedule changes

  • Must read and write English

The ideal candidate will have:

            Min. 5 years canvas/upholstery experience

            Customer Service & Project management experience

            High level of problem solving skills

            Excellent organizational and time management skills

EXPERIENCED MARINE TECHNICIAN – MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL & SYSTEMS

This position will focus on engine service, electrical and systems installation and service. Certification with Merc, Volvo or Yamaha diesel and/or gas desired. Electrical background a plus, particularly with ABYC credentials. Must be willing to learn and take on additional tasks as needed. Will train (and facilitate necessary certification) in some areas for the right candidate but will need experience (3+ years) in one or more disciplines.

Duties include:

Diesel/gas/outboard repair and vessel maintenance

Systems maintenance

DC/AC electrical work

Systems installation and troubleshooting

Applicant must be cool under pressure and be able to think on their feet in a dynamic and changing workplace.   

Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated, fast learner and able to work with minimal supervision

  • Mechanical aptitude (Marine or automotive mechanical repair)

  • Electrical & electronics experience 

  • Capable of problem solving and decision making

  • Familiar with mechanical repair tools

  • Own set of tools required

  • Clean driving record

  • Read/write/speak English

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is conducted in a fast-paced boatyard with moderate to loud noise levels. The technician will be required to be in production areas in the yard, onboard vessels, and occasionally go to off-site projects. Applicant must be able to: walk to and from job sites, climb inclined stairways and vertical ladders, enter confined areas and tanks, work at heights. Applicant must be able to frequently bend, squat, crawl, twist, and may be required to lift up to 50 pounds and may occasionally be required to work more than 8-hour shifts.

MARINE CANVAS & UPHOLSTERY TECHNICIAN

Candidate must have knowledge of design, fabrication, patterning and installation of canvas and upholstery products related to the marine industry. An enthusiastic attitude is just as important as the right skills to help us get to the next level. Ideal candidates come with experience, but we are willing to invest in training the right person.

Full time position, responsibilities include:

  • Fabricating high quality marine canvas & upholstery 

    • Examples include:  Bimini tops, dodgers, enclosures, boat covers & upholstery

  • Knowledge of design, fabrication, patterning, and installation of marine fabricated items

Experience required: 

  • Prior experience in marine canvas & upholstery industry, and/or upholstery repairs for boats/RVs is preferred

  • Familiarity with industrial canvas sewing machines & industrial cutting equipment (hot knife etc.)

  • Experience in creating patterns to fit model/year vessels, customization may be required

Traits required:
