MASTER MARINE TECHNICIAN

This position requires a well-rounded individual with knowledge and experience in a variety of marine skills. Any electrical background a plus, particularly with ABYC credentials. Must be willing to learn and take on additional tasks as needed. Will train (and facilitate necessary certification) in some areas for the right candidate but will need experience (3+ years) in one or more disciplines.  This position is for the most experienced marine technicians.  Seeking and individual who has experience and competency in at least 3 to 4 of the following areas.

Duties may include:

  • Diesel/gas/outboard repair and vessel maintenance

  • Systems maintenance

  • DC/AC electrical work

  • NMEA electronics installation and repair

  • Systems installation and troubleshooting.  (Refrigeration, heating, plumbing, pumps, etc)

  • Cabinet maker / wood worker

  • Welding & Fabrication

  • Fiberglass repair and fabrication

  • Rigging (standing and running)

  • Painter (Finish & Bottom) maybe brightwork

Qualifications:

  • Must be self-motivated, fast learner and able to work with minimal supervision

  • Marine Mechanical aptitude

  • Wood/Cabinetry experience

  • Electrical & electronics experience 

  • Read/write/speak English

  • Capable of problem solving and decision making

  • Familiar with mechanical repair tools

  • Own set of tools required

  • Clean driving record

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is conducted in a fast-paced boatyard with moderate to loud noise levels. The technician will be required to be in production areas in the yard, onboard vessels, and occasionally go to off-site projects. Applicant must be able to: walk to and from job sites, climb inclined stairways and vertical ladders, enter confined areas and tanks, work at heights. Applicant must be able to frequently bend, squat, crawl, twist, and may be required to lift up to 50 pounds . May be required to work more than 8-hour shifts occasionally.

EXPERIENCED MARINE TECHNICIAN

MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL, SYSTEMS & OUTBOARD REPAIR

This position will focus on engine service, electrical and systems installation and service. Certification with Merc, Volvo or Yamaha diesel and/or gas desired. Electrical background a plus, particularly with ABYC credentials. Must be willing to learn and take on additional tasks as needed. Will train (and facilitate necessary certification) in some areas for the right candidate but will need experience (3+ years) in one or more disciplines.

Duties include:

Diesel/gas/outboard repair and vessel maintenance

Systems maintenance

DC/AC electrical work

Systems installation and troubleshooting

Applicant must be cool under pressure and be able to think on their feet in a dynamic and changing workplace.   

Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated, fast learner and able to work with minimal supervision

  • Electrical & electronics experience

  • Familiar with mechanical repair tools

FRONT OFFICE COORDINATOR

SEA Marine is seeking a personable, organized employee with a can-do attitude to be the forward face of our active, growing marine service business. Employee must have positive attitude, professional appearance, and ability to multi-task efficiently.  Flexibility is important, as daily responsibilities may vary depending on customers’ needs.  Position is full time, a minimum of 32 hours per week.  Work week is Monday through Friday, and steady hours are required but flexible between the 8:30am – 3:30pm timeframe each day.  Hours could extend as needed, based upon demand and availability.  Position reports to Operations Manager, with support to Finance and Service Managers.

 

Full time position, responsibilities include:

  • Manage opening & closing of store

  • Greet customers, answer phones and transfer calls

  • Process customer payments for service, store items and yard services

  • Communicate with employees via radio to expedite customer service

  • Maintain store front’s organization, display, and cleanliness

  • Manage inventory of store and office supplies

  • Receive and route deliveries, process returns

  • Ensure that all administrative tasks for the shift have been completed and that the store is stocked, tidy & clean for each day

  • Support the team for smooth daily operations.  Tasks include but not limited to mail/bank runs, invoice entry, organization of spaces or other tasks in support of our growing business.

 

With time and experience, increased responsibility to include:

  • Support Service Department with internal & customer communications

  • Maintain shop parts inventory

 

Experienced required: 

  • Office setting & customer interaction

  • Microsoft Office:  Outlook, Word, Excel

  • QuickBooks: Basic level understanding

 

Traits required:

  • Positive attitude with willingness to learn

  • Organized with an attention to detail

  • Self-starter who is comfortable working independently and in support of others 

  • Excellent communication skills with customers and coworkers

  • Awareness of active jobs onsite, being proactive to customers’ needs

 

Additional requirements:
