Immediate openings:
EXPERIENCED MARINE TECHNICIAN
MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL, SYSTEMS & OUTBOARD REPAIR
This position will focus on engine service, electrical and systems installation and service. Certification with Merc, Volvo or Yamaha diesel and/or gas desired. Electrical background a plus, particularly with ABYC credentials. Must be willing to learn and take on additional tasks as needed. Will train (and facilitate necessary certification) in some areas for the right candidate but will need experience (3+ years) in one or more disciplines.
Duties include:
Diesel/gas/outboard repair and vessel maintenance
Systems maintenance
DC/AC electrical work
Systems installation and troubleshooting
Applicant must be cool under pressure and be able to think on their feet in a dynamic and changing workplace.
Qualifications:

· Self-motivated, fast learner and able to work with minimal supervision

· Mechanical aptitude (Marine or automotive mechanical repair)

· Electrical & electronics experience

· Capable of problem solving and decision making

· Familiar with mechanical repair tools

· Own set of tools required

· Clean driving record
-
· Read/write/speak English
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Work is conducted in a fast-paced boatyard with moderate to loud noise levels. The technician will be required to be in production areas in the yard, onboard vessels, and occasionally go to off-site projects. Applicant must be able to: walk to and from job sites, climb inclined stairways and vertical ladders, enter confined areas and tanks, work at heights. Applicant must be able to frequently bend, squat, crawl, twist, and may be required to lift up to 50 pounds and may occasionally be required to work more than 8-hour shifts.

LEAD CANVAS & UPHOLSTERY ESTIMATOR
Candidate will be the primary customer contact for the fabrication team, assemble customer estimates, work with current team to schedule, fabricate and install bimini tops, boat covers, dodgers, full enclosures and do upholstery work for vessel and vehicle seating. Candidate must have knowledge of design, fabrication, patterning and installation of canvas products related to the marine industry. This position requires an eye for detail, shaping, symmetry and design. It also requires speed, accuracy and the ability to work well with others.
This position requires a high level of craftsmanship in:

Patterning a project in the shop or at the source

Cutting of materials

Sewing
Qualifications

Must be able to work independently and with team

Must have commercial marine or automotive experience

Must be able to make precise measurements

Must have experience in creating custom patterns

Must know how to piece together full canvas enclosures, including rigid windows

Must be able to organize workflow, meet customer needs and production deadlines

Must exhibit flexibility as shop schedule changes

Must read and write English
The ideal candidate will have:
Min. 5 years canvas/upholstery experience
Customer Service & Project management experience
High level of problem solving skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Additional requirements:
• US Citizenship
• High School Diploma / GED
• Related experience
• Current U.S. Driver's License
• Must pass drug screening
• Residence in Port Townsend area
