We did it!
The restoration of Sequel is relatively DONE! She was on the dock for the Wooden Boat Festival and we got to share our experiences of this 5-year project with many interested visitors over the weekend. It was tough to relive some of those early challenges (the literal blood, sweat & tears) but the ugly duckling has become a swan and being on the water in the now beautiful and functional vessel made it all feel worthwhile. We've been on the dock at Point Hudson all week while the SEA mechanics have been tweaking and troubleshooting systems and issues that have arisen. Pat and the crew took her out for a sea trial and were very pleased with how she ran.
We have the green light to embark on our first voyage and will be headed up to Friday Harbor today! After we return, she'll be under cover in the SEA Marine yard for the winter. We appreciate the interest and support we've received from the PT maritime community and of course the staff at SEA Marine. It took a village for sure!

The interior finishes turned out beautifully and our sofa and chairs from Perch Furniture in Portland (which have been in storage for a year) fit perfectly. F!oor refinishing was done by Northwest Hardwood Flooring. Above is a slide show.
Pat continues to turn out amazing custom carpentry, the latest being a tabletop he attached to the base of the old fighting chair--more practical for us to use for eating the big fish rather than catching the big fish!
She looks brand new! Quite an accomplishment for a 53 year old Rybovich!!
She was christened the Little Pete, and was named after me by my dad, Paul Leviten, the original owner who had this 58-foot beauty built in the 1970s. She was his second Rybovich, preceded by a 52-foot version a few years prior.
We had many wonderful times and caught many large fish, including a 762 pound tuna and a 494 pound swordfish. I even caught two swordfish in 3 days the last year we had her in 1975!
In the summer we kept her in Wickford, Rhode Island. In the winter we took her down to West Palm Beach and usually at the Rybovich boat yard. We…
